Can I send brand representatives to the showroom?
Yes! We warmly welcome you to visit in person during one of our planned events to demonstrate and represent your products.
Depending on availability, we can even plan to feature your products in a special, "front of showroom" display during your visit. During the time of your visit, we will also feature your products in our social media communications.
Please let us know if you would like to plan a showroom visit or host a special event with expanded product offerings.
Who chooses what will be featured in the showroom?
Nørdikka Collective co-founder and creative director Amy Larson curates our product offerings.
Amy will work with you to select the products that best fit the aesthetic of our showroom and that she feels will succeed in our local market. We make showroom selections with a Miami audience in mind.
Much of Miami's population lives in light-filled apartments and modern homes, many of which overlook water. Our showroom look will be designed for these environments. The online store will feature expanded product offerings and color selections.
Can we make custom products for the showroom?
Yes! If time allows, we encourage you to consider making a custom-designed or exclusive product for the Miami showroom.
We would be happy to discuss your vision to maintain consistency with the look of the showroom collection. We are also willing to consider a white label collection of Nørdikka Collective products and design collaborations for our own product line.
Custom collaboration products are a great way to co-brand your product with our American brand.
How does shipping and storage work?
All furniture and products will be stored in the Nørdikka Collective showroom. We also maintain a nearby climate-controlled storage unit.
Pop-up exhibitors are responsible for the cost of shipping their samples and products to the showroom.
How do you determine fees?
The pop-up exhibition program operates on the basis of minimum monthly guarantees and reduced sales commissions.
The minimum guarantee most pop-up exhibitors pay is quite low, relative to trade show participation and other marketing activities.
In practice, this structure means that Nørdikka Collective does not earn any additional revenues until commissions on gross sales exceed the minimum guarantee in any given calendar month.
Please contact us for details.
Why do you require a minimum guarantee?
Traditional seller-buyer relationships in the retail sector often require retailers to pay full wholesale prices up front, plus the cost of shipping.
Retailers also cover all fixed costs associated with their brick & mortar stores (rent, staffing, utilities, insurance, etc.).
This model discourages retailers from investing in new products that don't have a proven sales track record in their local markets.
The minimum guarantee model allows sellers and retailers to share the risk of introducing new products. It also offers a low-cost way for companies to introduce their products to Miami or expand their brand's visibility here through a brick & mortar presence at Nørdikka Collective.
Both parties are mutually incentivized to work together to maximize sales during the pop-up period.
What happens at the end of the six-month pop-up exhibition?
There are several potential outcomes after the initial six-month pop-up period.
In some cases, we may mutually agree to switch over to a traditional seller-buyer arrangement.
In other cases, we may mutually agree to extend the pop-up for an additional six months.
In some, we may decide to part ways—but always on the best possible terms!
At the conclusion of your pop-up exhibition, you may choose to discount products during a sample sale. Or, if you prefer to have your samples returned to you, we will have the products professionally packaged and send you a final bill for shipping and handling costs.
What is Art Basel?
Art Basel is a world-renowned art and design event hosted annually in Miami Beach. Stores, galleries, and event spaces open their doors to artists and designers from around the world and to thousands of visitors.
Our showroom typically hosts parties and events during Art Basel and Miami Design Week. We highly recommend booking travel and accommodations well in advance if you plan to visit during Art Basel week, as Miami is flooded with tourists during that time.
Art Basel is also an amazing opportunity to take in design and art events throughout the city. For more information visit Art Basel.
Design Education
Nørdikka Collective is committed to providing a platform for design education in our community. We will host regular events both in-person and online for design professionals and the public at large. For more information, contact us or consider applying for our Designer's Circle program.
